Christmas #Talkfest 2010

What's this about?

A lot of science bloggers seem to want to change the world, or at least have some sort of impact on parts of the world. In what ways do science bloggers want to have impact? (or do they?) How can they get some feel for their audience's? (or can they?) How might bloggers evaluate how successful they are in their aims? (does that matter?)

These are all tricky questions the blogosphere as a whole will disagree on. With the aims of having a bit of a think about these questions and possibly sharing some useful ideas and experience, we've convened a very festive Talkfest.

Join us for drinks and mince pies at Charles Darwin House on the 14th of December, from 6.30pm.

From 7.30pm our speakers will briefly outline their experiences in the area. This is just to warm everyone up though, and will be speedily followed by a chance for any bloggers attending to discuss the sorts of impacts they’d like to have and where. Then, as a group, we think about ways we might be able to learn about audiences we want to target, and whether it is possible to see how well they are managing this.

Then we'll go to the pub.
